Your Neurotoxin Appointment at Skinship
Your appointment begins with a consultation and full-face assessment. Our board certified PA-C will ask about your goals, previous treatments, medical history, and preferences for movement.
The injections are quick and typically involve minimal discomfort. Most Botox and Dysport appointments take about 15 to 30 minutes, making them easy to fit into a busy Buckhead schedule.
Botox vs. Dysport:
Which Wrinkle Relaxer Is Right for You?
Botox and Dysport are both neuromodulators that temporarily relax targeted facial muscles. The right option depends on your treatment area, previous experience with wrinkle relaxers, muscle strength, and desired result. During your appointment, Kayla will help determine whether Botox, Dysport, or a combination approach makes the most sense.
Botox and Dysport Pricing in Atlanta
At Skinship, neuromodulators are $13/unit. Pricing depends on the number of units needed for your specific anatomy and the number of areas treated. Treating with the correct dosage is critical to achieving the natural, but impactful results we deliver at Skinship. Too few units and your results won’t last the full 3 months and you won’t receive the preventative benefits of neuromodulators. Too many units and you can end up with unwanted side effects like a heavy brow or frozen expressions.
Trusting your provider and their recommended treatment plan is the best way to achieve your goals!
What to know before your Botox or Dysport appointment
Pre and Post Care Instructions
-
Plan ahead - Book at least 2 weeks before any special event, photoshoot, or presentation. This gives time for any swelling or bruising to fade—and for your results to fully settle.
Come fresh-faced - If possible, arrive with clean skin and no makeup.
Skip alcohol - Hold off on wine and cocktails for 24 hours before your visit.
Avoid blood thinners - Unless medically necessary, avoid NSAIDs (like Advil, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Aspirin), fish oil, and vitamin E for 7 days beforehand, as they can increase the risk of bruising. Taking a prescription blood thinner? Let us know in advance.
Cold sore prone? - If you’ve had cold sores or herpes simplex, tell us ahead of time—we may want to prescribe an medication to prevent a recurrence. -
Stay upright - No lying down for at least 4 hours post-treatment.
Hands off - Avoid touching, massaging, or putting pressure on treated areas for 24 hours. That includes hats, face-down massages, and even facials. Gently washing your face is okay.
Pause skin treatments - Hold off on facials, microneedling, lasers, massages, waxing, or threading for 2 weeks to let everything settle in place.
Keep it clean - Wait 4 hours before applying makeup to treated areas (longer if you can!). Keep the injection sites clean for the first 24 hours.
Skip the sweat - Avoid intense workouts, heavy sweating, and saunas for 24 hours. A gentle walk is totally fine.
For any soreness - Tylenol (acetaminophen) is okay to take if you feel tender.
No alcohol or blood thinners - Avoid alcohol, NSAIDs (like Advil, Aleve), fish oil, and vitamin E for 24 hours after treatment—they can increase bruising.
What’s normal:Mild redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness around the injection sites is common and should fade within 4–5 days. You may also experience a headache or temporary eyelid irritation.
When to call:If you have trouble breathing, chest pain, or any severe symptoms, seek immediate medical attention or call 911
