Chemical Peel Before and After
What Chemical Peels Can Treat
Chemical peels improve more than just the surface of the skin. By accelerating natural cell turnover, they help remove damaged skin cells while encouraging healthier skin to emerge. Over time, this process improves overall skin quality and creates a smoother, more radiant complexion.
Chemical peels are commonly recommended for uneven skin tone, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne, acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, rough texture, and dull skin. Your provider will recommend the peel strength that's best suited to your skin type, lifestyle, and treatment goals.
Your Chemical Peel Appointment
Your appointment begins with a personalized skin consultation to evaluate your skin type, current concerns, and desired results. We'll determine whether a traditional peel or lunchtime peel is the best option based on your skin health and downtime preferences.
Once your skin has been cleansed and prepped, the chemical peel solution is carefully applied and monitored throughout the treatment. Most appointments take approximately 30 to 45 minutes, and your provider will review personalized aftercare instructions before you leave.
Chemical Peel vs. Microneedling:
Which Treatment Is Right for Your Skin?
Both chemical peels and microneedling improve skin tone and texture, but they work in different ways. Chemical peels resurface the outermost layers of skin through controlled exfoliation, making them an excellent option for discoloration, pigmentation, acne, and sun damage.
Microneedling works beneath the skin's surface by stimulating collagen production, making it especially effective for acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, and improving skin firmness. During your consultation, we'll recommend the treatment, or combination of treatments, that best addresses your skin concerns.
Chemical Peel Pricing in Atlanta
Every chemical peel at Skinship is selected based on your skin type, goals, and desired level of resurfacing. Whether you're looking for a quick refresh with minimal downtime or a more corrective treatment for pigmentation and texture, we'll create a customized treatment plan designed for long-term skin health.
We'll review treatment recommendations and pricing during your consultation before moving forward.

FAQs
-
Downtime varies by peel depth.
With our Lunchtime Peel, you may experience slight pinkness or tightness for up to 24 hours, but there's no major peeling—most clients return to normal activities immediately. Results are typically visible right away and continue to improve over the next few days.
With our Traditional Peel, expect mild redness for the first 24 hours, followed by visible peeling starting around Day 3 and lasting through Day 7. During this time, your skin may feel dry or tight. You'll begin to see results around Day 7, with continued improvement over the following one to two weeks.
-
After your consultation with Kayla to determine the best treatment and depth of peel for your skin, a chemical solution will be applied that exfoliates and removes dead skin cells to revealing a smoother, brighter layer beneath. You may feel a mild tingling or warming sensation during the process. The whole process takes around 30-60 minutes and depending on the peel type, you can expect some redness, dryness, or peeling in the days that follow. As your skin heals, you'll notice improved texture, tone, and overall radiance.
-
The ideal frequency depends on your skin goals, but most clients benefit from a series of peels spaced every 4–6 weeks for ongoing maintenance and glow. We typically recommend at least 3 treatments for optimal results. During your consultation, we’ll create a personalized plan based on your skin type and concerns.
-
To protect your results, avoid direct sunlight, sweating, and active skincare products (like retinoids or exfoliants) for several days post-treatment. Keep your skin moisturized and wear SPF daily. We'll give you personalized aftercare instructions based on the type of peel you receive.
