3 Areas We Won't Treat With Filler (And What We Do Instead)

The short answer: at Skinship in Buckhead, we don't use filler for forehead and frown lines, the nose, or under-eye hollowing. In these areas, filler either carries more risk than we're comfortable with or tends to look worse than the alternatives. Here's why, and what we recommend instead.
1. Forehead + frown lines (the “11s”)
Why not filler: most lines here come from muscle movement, so filler doesn't treat the cause. The frown area between the brows also sits over blood vessels connected to the eye, which makes it one of the highest-risk places on the face to inject filler.
What we do instead
A neuromodulator. Botox, Dysport, or Daxxify relaxes the muscles that create these lines, so they soften without adding volume.
2. The nose (“liquid rhinoplasty”)
Why not filler: the nose has small, tightly connected blood vessels and very little room for error. Filler complications here can affect the skin and, rarely, vision. And filler can only add. It can't make a nose smaller.
What we do instead
An honest conversation at your consultation. Sometimes balancing another feature changes how the nose reads. If your goal really is a different nose, a surgical consult may be the better route, and we'll tell you so.
3. Under-eye hollowing
Why not filler: under-eye skin is very thin. Filler can show through with a bluish tint, hold onto water and look puffy, or shift over time. It often creates a new problem instead of fixing the old one.
What we do instead
PRF under-eye treatment uses your body's own growth factors to support collagen, helping with hollows, dark circles, and crepey skin, without placing product under the eye.

Some do. It's our clinical preference not to, because for our patients the tradeoff isn't worth it when safer options exist.
