The short answer: Daxxify is a neurotoxin, the same category as Botox and Dysport. What's different is the formulation — it's built around a synthetic peptide instead of human serum albumin, with nothing animal-derived in it. We now offer all three at Skinship, and which one we'd suggest comes down to how your current results are holding up.
What actually makes it different
Every neurotoxin needs something to keep the active ingredient stable in the vial. Botox and Dysport use human serum albumin, a protein derived from donated blood plasma. Daxxify uses a synthetic 35-amino-acid peptide instead — no albumin, no animal-derived components.
It's a genuinely different approach to the same job. Whether it's the right one for your face is a separate question, and the answer isn't automatically yes.
Who we wouldn't switch. If your Botox or Dysport is working and you're happy with how you look, stay where you are. A newer product is not automatically a better one, and we're not going to pretend otherwise to move a vial.

What to expect at your appointment
It looks like any other tox appointment. Your provider assesses how your face moves, maps the injection points, and treats. About fifteen minutes, start to finish.
Daxxify is FDA approved for moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. You may have slight redness or small raised bumps at the injection sites for a couple of hours. Most people go straight back to their day.

Is Daxxify stronger than Botox?
No. It's formulated differently and dosed on a different unit scale, which isn't the same as being stronger. Forty units of Daxxify is not comparable to forty units of Botox.
Can I switch back if I don't like it?
Yes. Nothing about trying Daxxify affects how Botox or Dysport works for you later.
Does it cost more?
Our neurotoxins are $13.50 per unit. Because the unit scales differ between products, a per-unit comparison isn't meaningful — your provider will quote you a total for your treatment plan before anything happens.
How do I know which one is right for me?
